  • Description: A 6-week prenatal health education series, offered in partnership with the Nurse-Family Partnership, African American Perinatal Health and Community Nursing programs. The series will have a Registered Nurse from the Sacramento County Department of Health Services offer support and information to pregnant people to assist them in having a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.Weekly topics will include: February 1st: Labor & Delivery and Birth Planning - What to expect in the labor and delivery process and how to create a birth plan. February 8th: First 6 Weeks Postpartum - What to expect in the first 6 weeks after delivery. February 15th: Maternal Mental Health and Your Support System - Importance of emotional well-being and a support system as a new parent. February 22nd: Early Literacy - Importance of reading and sharing the parents' native language before the baby is born and during the first 5 years of life. February 29th: Breastfeeding and Infant Nutrition - Nutrition for pregnant people and the basics of infant feeding for baby's first year of life. March 7th: Safe Sleep - How to safely put a baby to sleep
