  • Description: CalWORKs is a public assistance program that provides cash aid and services to eligible families that have a child(ren) in the home. Families eligible for CalWORKs may also be eligible for additional services, including: Cal-Learn: Statewide program for pregnant and parenting teens. The goal of the program is to help teens graduate from high school, become independent and form healthy families. Homeless Assistance: Special need payment to help meet costs for temporary and permanent housing or to assist with the payment of rent arrearages. Child Care: Aided parents who are employed or enrolled in approved Welfare-to-Work (WTW) activities may be eligible for subsidized child care services.
