• Description: Provides early care and education aimed at enhancing children's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.Center-based ProgramHead Start services are delivered at various early learning centers located throughout Sacramento County. Services are delivered either in a half-day or full-day option. Center-based programs are offered in the traditional school year and year-round options. State Wrap Preschool Option: This option is a combination of Head Start and State Preschool services. Classes are in session for 6 1/2 hours, Monday through Thursday, and 3 hours and 45 minutes on Friday. Full-day Preschool Option: This option is for families that are working, in school, incapacitated, or seeking employment. Families may receive up to 7 hours of child care services based on the parent's documented need.
