- Description: Provides young adults aged 18 - 25 and military veterans through age 29 a year of paid service to the State of California. During their year of service, members work on environmental projects and respond to natural and man-made disasters, including: Targeted Conservation Programs: Allows members to focus on a specific type of natural resource work or other unique experience. Emergency Response: Members respond to a variety of emergencies, including fires, floods, oil spills, earthquakes, and agricultural emergencies.

- Eligibility: Individuals must be:- 18-25 years of age, or military veterans up through age 29- A California resident- Able to successfully pass fingerprint and background check, drug test, physical exam and training- Willing and able to work outdoors in all types of weather and conditions- Willing and able to respond to emergencies and be away from home or assigned center for two weeks or longer- Willing and able to participate in the CCC education program- Military veterans ages 26-29 must be in possession of a DD214 with a discharge status of Honorable or General under Honorable Conditions- Out of state applicants who meet CCC eligibility requirements may be considered for enrollment, depending on space and availability.
