- Description: Provides a federal nutrition program that helps people of a low-income status purchase food for the summer months of June, July, and August. Children who qualify for no-cost or reduced-price school meals through a school meal application or an Alternative Income Form, or get CalFresh, CalWORKs, or Medi-Cal, are automatically enrolled. Households that are eligible will receive a plastic electronic benefit card (EBT) that can be used at most grocery stores when buying food items. SUN Bucks provides $40 per month for food for June, July and August 2024 ($120 total).Individuals can use the EBT Map to locate stores where their EBT card can be used.Note: Families must use SUN Bucks within 122 days of funds being loaded to their card.
