  • Description: It is the mission of the Yurok Tribe Police to prevent crime, to preserve the peace, to protect natural resources and to prevent unlawful disturbances; to make arrests when necessary and to investigate public offenses. Protect the Tribe Protect the Public Enhance the quality of life by providing the Reservation residence, employee and guests efficient, effective law enforcement services. Fulfill the department's legal requirementsShall be operated in accordance with established department policies and procedures, appropriate tribal ordinances, applicable federal law, applicable judicial law, California law and acceptable professional standards.The Yurok Tribe Police shall provide service to the people of the reservation to ensure their safety and the well-being. The rights of the people as provided by the constitution of the United States and Indian civil rights act shall be protected through fair and impartial enforcement of the law. This enforcement will be to the intent of; the spirit of the law rather than a strict adherence of the letter of the law.
