• Description: A Fire Fighter I fights wildland, rural and structural fires and responds to various other emergency situations including medical emergencies; repairs equipment; and responsible for general station housekeeping.Qualifications: The minimum qualification to participate in the Fire Fighter I classification is that you must be 18 years of age at the time of appointment to a Fire Fighter I position. Applicants must have the ability to follow oral and written directions; do heavy physical work; exercise good judgment in hazardous fire suppression activity; accept and benefit from training in fire suppression work and techniques; work safely with others; live in a fire station compatibility with others; respond quickly to oral commands or signals in emergency situations.
