  • Description: AMI Housing, Inc (AMIH) is a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that provides housing, employment and life skills programs to residents of Nevada County and Placer County who otherwise might be homeless. Nevada County residents must be clients of Turning Point.AMIH has funding for specific programs to serve Transition Age Youth (TAY) ages 18-24 in PLACER COUNTY.AMIH's programs can help people who are low income and are homeless, or at risk of homelessness. Any rent payment assistance help is based on their income and need. Some people get help with the security deposit, first month's rent, and then a few months of rental assistance. Others get help for longer and some for shorter period of time. The extent of rental assistance depends on the individual and their need. A housing counselor may be able to help them find a suitable and affordable apartment in Nevada County or Placer County.As of 7/7/2022, Rental assistance is currently only available for the city of Roseville.NOTE: Once AMI receives a referral, it may take 1-2 weeks for referred people to hear from AMI.
