Qualification for a Section 42 community apartment is determined by the Department of Housing and Urban Development Agency (HUD), and laws mandated by the federal government. Income must be verified (including standard wages and all other sources, such as child support, pensions, socia lsecurity and asset income) prior to being accepted for residency and is reviewed annually to assure continued eligibility.
