• Description: In Placer County, Lilliput provides a variety of services to children and families touched by foster care, adoption and kinship care.We welcome community referrals and look for opportunities to partner with other service providers to better meet the needs of the community.Kinship Support Services Program (KSSP): A kinship family is formed when an extended family member, such as a grandparent, aunt/uncle or sibling, steps in to raise a child when the birth parent(s) are unable or unavailable.Families served do not have to be formally connected to the foster care system.Services provided: Family Finding and Engagement In-home Support Counseling Support Groups Information & Referrals Advocacy Assistance with Basic Needs Legal Referrals Children's activities and supports Foster-Adoption ProgramLilliput's child-focused foster family and adoption program has the goal of placing foster children into homes that are well trained and supported to facilitate a child's return home to birth family and/or offer a permanent, adoptive home to a child or sibling group.This minimizes the number of moves and trauma experienced by foster youth.Adoption Home Studies: Lilliput is licensed by the state of California to provide fee-based adoption home studies for families adopting domestically.Counseling Services: Foster, adoptive and kinship children and families have special needs not typically addressed by traditional counseling services.Our therapists are specially trained to provide permanency-focused, trauma-informed best practice services to ensure healthy attachments form; behaviors are understood; past traumas begin to heal; family members stay connected; children are kept safe; children flourish and families thrive.Services address: Birth family connections Pre- through post-adoption issues Search and reunion Adult adoptee issues Adoption readiness after infertility
