- Eligibility: California resident; must be unable to do regular work for at least 8 consecutive days, employed or actively looking for work at the time became disabled and have lost wages because of your, earned at least $300 from which SDI deductions were withheld during a previous period, must complete and mail a claim form within 49 days of the date you became disabled, must be under the care and treatment of a licensed physician/practitioner during the first 8 days of your disability and a doctor must complete the medical certification of the disability.
