- Description: Programs that provide a variety of supportive services for people who have witnessed a crime which may include crisis counseling, shelter away from their homes, escort services, transportation, child care, financial assistance, protective services, information about the mechanics of court proceedings and/or advice and guidance concerning court appearances. Some programs focus specifically on child witnesses and help to prepare them for what they will experience in the courtroom.

- Eligibility: Contra Costa resident who is victim or witness of a crime; crime must be reported to law enforcement, victim must cooperate in the investigation and prosecution of an known suspects, and victim must not have contributed to the events which lead up to the crime.
