- Description: Offering a backup power transfer meter to eligible PG&E customers that will allow them to power their house during a power outage. When utility power is off, the backup power transfer meter can switch to generator power and it will automatically switch back to utility power when it becomes available.

- Eligibility: Must meet the following criteria: - Live in a Tier 2 or 3 high-fire threat area as determined by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) on the High Fire-Threat District map, https://bit.ly/3JiJqVB and/or be affected by PG&E’s Enhanced Powerline Safety Setting (EPSS). - Be the PG&E account holder for the home. - Be the owner of the home or have the owner’s permission for the home’s participation. - If enrolled in the Medical Baseline program, individuals must agree that their participation will not compromise their medical needs and that those needs can be met during a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) with or without the use of a backup generator. - The location must have access to a compatible generator (30A, 120V/240V with standard NEMA L14-30P plug portable generator with over-current protection). - The location must have a 200A meter panel into which the Backup Power Transfer Meter and cable can be installed. The panel must meet the operational purpose for the program. - Agree to provide PG&E access to the site to install the Backup Power Transfer Meter and cable and to inspect the panel to verify it meets operational requirements. - Provide survey feedback to PG&E about their participation in the program.
