  • Description: Released on 09/22 Butte County, Calif - Property owners enrolled or considering enrollment in the Private Hazard Tree Removal Program now have deadlines in which they must enroll and comply with the program. October 30, 2020 marks the deadline to enroll in the Private Hazard Tree Removal Program which began accepting enrollment applications in late 2019. December 4, 2020 is the Private Program “cut-by” date. By this date, property owners must cut their Hazardous Trees and remove them from their property. In the Town, properties must also be certified clear of trees by this date. The Butte County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved these dates at their Tuesday, September 15th meeting. The Paradise Town Council adopted these deadlines on September 8th. The deadlines are for the Private Program and do not pertain to the Government Hazard Tree Removal Program which has not yet begun cutting trees. Property owners who are not yet enrolled in a program are encouraged to enroll in the Government program unless they can meet the cut-by date of December 4, 2020. To enroll in the Government Program, visit buttecountyrecovers.org and download the Right of Entry Permit form to have the State remove trees at no out-of-pocket expense. You may submit your ROE directly online or mail to the Tree ROE Center at PO Box 3390, Chico, CA 95927-3390. Properties enrolled in the Private Program may switch to the Government Program as long as the State is still accepting enrollment forms. The deadline for the Government Program enrollment is December 31st, 2020. Residents may also call the Tree ROE Center to enroll or to schedule compliance inspections: 530.552.3030 or email TreeROE@buttecounty.net. Properties enrolled in the Private Program with Hazardous Trees after the December 4th deadline will be subject to abatement.
