- Description: Provides assistance to victims of crime. Victim Witness Advocate assists victims with their immediate safety needs, understanding of the criminal justice system and their financial, emotional and mental support, and legal resource information. Victim Witness services include: crisis intervention and on-going support; emergency assistance; referrals to additional services; orientation and education of the victim of the criminal justice system; court accompaniment; notification to employer, family or friends; victim of crime financial claims assistance, and more. Financial awards for up to $7,000 are available to victims/witnesses who meet eligibility guidelines.
