  • Description: The Drug Endangered Children program is a coordinated response to save children endangered by drug labs and lifestyle. The Butte County District Attorney, Children Services and local law enforcement agencies cooperate in the investigation, protection of the children, and prosecution of the crime of child endangerment resulting from drug labs. Endangered children receive immediate intervention, medical assistance, appropriate placement, and other services. The Butte County DEC Response Team also provides training and community presentations throughout Butte County, California and other states. Training is provided on drugs, user identification, methamphetamine manufacturing, investigation of DEC cases, prosecution and Social Service intervention.
