  • Description: Aims to stop the transmission of the Hepatitis B virus to newborn infants from mothers. Works with hospitals and pediatric providers to:
    • Prevent the spread of the Hepatitis B virus to newborns
    • Provide health education to pregnant women who are infected with Hepatitis B and their families
    • Identify household contacts and provide referrals for Hepatitis B medical screening and evaluation
    • Maintain contact with mothers and physicians to ensure the Hepatitis B vaccine series is given. Makes sure post-vaccine serology is completed in a timely manner
