• Description: Provides support services, education, information and advocacy to people with multiple sclerosis (MS) and their families and caregivers. Offers recreational activities, including therapeutic aquatics and yoga. Also offers an equipment loan program (wheelchairs, walking aids, etc.), social and educational discussion groups, a library and newsletter. Offers a summer energy assistance program and may provide cash assistance to those with MS to purchase adaptive equipment (including back-up power devices for medical equipment) or make necessary modifications that clients may not have been able to afford on their own and their medical insurance will not cover. Offers other services that include and Angel Visitation program for individuals with MS who may be isolated, educational scholarships, respite care, care management, an advocacy network, financial planning services, and a variety of family and social events. Financial applications and needs assessments are conducted to determine eligibility (includes eligibility for Transportation vouchers).
