The 14-acre zoo plays an important role in the conservation of rare and endangered species.Research, captive breeding programs, and education of visitors are all part of the zoo's efforts to promote understanding of the global environment, awareness of the plight of endangered animals, and the need to promote conservation of the world's natural resources.Picnic facilities, refreshment stands, and a gift shop are also available.Edible trees and shrub trimmings can be donated to feed the animals. Drop off preferred or pick-up within a 5-mile radius of the zoo.
