- Description: The Shingle Springs Tribal TANF Program provides welfare related services to needy Native American families with minor-aged children. Services include cash assistance, supportive services, educational and employment services, and other case management services. The goal of services is to promote families in becoming self-sufficient and overall well being.Self-sufficiency is promoted through educational activities including completion of a GED, enrollment in local colleges, life skills training, tutorial services, and incentives for academic achievement. Career development activities are designated to provide on-the-job training, work experience, basic skills development, and culturally relevant work activities.Additional services include youth prevention and educational programs. These programs include leadership and positive Native American role models, and tribal cultural awareness through events and activities.
