- Description: Please check website or contact agency for COVID-19 restrictions.A Family Resource Center (FRC) is a welcoming place offering a range of services, activities, and opportunities that respond comprehensively to the needs and hopes of local residents and families of diverse multicultural populations in Sacramento County. Home Visitation - Provides weekly case management as well as parenting lessons to clients in the privacy of their homes. The evidence-based curriculum, the Nurturing Parenting Program (NPP), is focused on developing an empathetic parent-child relationship and introducing families to positive parenting approaches. Home visitation also connects families with community resources, health education, and information. School Readiness - Offers age-appropriate learning and development skills and reading resources, as well as information on free books and how to establish reading routines. School readiness helps link families to their local school districts and helps with enrollment requirements. Parenting Education Workshops - Court approved workshops designed to improve parenting skills. Play care available to current clients attending workshops. Crisis Intervention - Addresses the urgent needs of families that can spiral into a family crisis. The Intervention Specialist assists families with concrete support in times of need. Families receive advocacy and resources to address their immediate crisis. Domestic Violence Support Groups. Enhanced Core Services - Car Seat Workshops, Infant Safe Sleep Workshops, Support Groups, Afterschool Homework Club, Girl Scouts, Early Learners, Karate, and Summer Lunch Program. - Eligibility: Birth & Beyond: Families with children from birth - age 17 who live in Sacramento County.At-Home Visitation: At-Risk families that are pregnant or have children from birth through age 17 years old and are living within specified zip codes.
